It's ND3 for a one stop correction.

Shouldn't it be ND2 filter (that has optical density 0.3)? I'm a bit confused...

IIRC stills camera manufacturers like to name their screw on filters ND2, ND4, etc. I think it was a Nikon thing.

Yes ND2 = ND.3

But in cinema world, the filters are all .3, .6, etc. that goes for Kodak Wratten filters and for gel manufacturers like Lee and Rosco.

According to wikipedia, ND2 = 1/2 lens area opening or 1/2 closed, which is the same as 50% reduction in light transmittance. So it looks as if I need the ND2 to rate my asa100 film at asa50?

Some related questions please. I just dug out a 77mm filter which fits both my Kiev-60 and Krasnogorsk K-3. It's a UV filter - is there any filter factor on UV filters please? I ask because I want to use it as a 'skylight' to protect the K3s zoom lens.

Question 2: I found I had a Kood attachment for the 77mm thread filter lens together with a Kood BW4 red filter. Does anyone know what filter factor this is please - how many f-stops?

Thanks again,

Not sure about that but my Lee Filters swatch has a ".3 Neutral Density [filter]" which "reduces light 1 stop" so I presume this is Woods01 reference to "ND2 = ND.3" ?
