Recommendations for replacing a Bolex power grip?

Hi!

I have an ESM with a power grip, but after a big day of scuba diving and interviews I dropped the grip and it's now a bit unreliable. I have another interview this weekend and I need a reliable replacement, but I'm not keen on the grip. Ideally, I want to just connect up a 12V battery to the ESM without the power grip and without having to go through a power base... does anyone have the pin layout for the ESM power in plug so I can wire up a plug? Is this a good way to go? Are there any concerns doing it this way?

I'm thinking I'll go with an NiMH battery and cable from procam... they can get it to me in time for the weekend. WOOT!
