Re: Wow, what a price for a c mount lens!
Some auction for a newbie with a find from granddad's camera cabinet.
It cannot be a hoax or shill, I guess. There are three bidders over 10.000 and five over 5.000

I was watching the item since it was listed, but happened to catch the last 30 seconds of the auction. In the last 5 seconds the price jumped over $2500!

Is this really a "C-Mount"-lens? Or is it a "D-Mount" or "M-Mount"?
And why should someone pay for a lens that's broken and most likely beyond repair: "...small dent on hood... Has some dust and particles inside looks pretty good! Needs a good cleaning..."

Kino-Plasmats are probably the most collectable cine lenses out there, I've seen them go for astronomical prices, but this could be a record. Over 12 grand for one of those is ridiculous! Historically they were a sensation when first released in the 20s, the fastest cine lens available at the time, but 12 grand?? You used to find them on old Bolexes and other early 8 and 16mm cameras from before WWII.
The mount looks like a D-mount, but 2" lenses are unusual for 8mm. It might be for an early 30s Cine-Nizo, a German 16mm camera that on some models used a D-mount thread but with a longer flange focal depth.
