D-Mount fitting?

Post by mr_x »

Hi,

Am having a problem getting a d-mount zoom to fit an H8.

Image

As you can see, the viewer extension drops round 90 degrees further than it ought to, so you can't unflex it to use it. I cannot see any adjustment on the lens barrel to allow correct positioning for the lens? Of course the temptation is to leave the lens loose so that the viewer can be pulled into it's correct position by the side of the camera body, but then the whole lens is going to be slightly out of focus for the film gate.

Help appreciated :)

Thanks,

Ric

Looking at the D-mount threads of the lens you will see that it is notched. This allows you to use a flat metal tool to rotate the threads. It's a little trial and error to get it just right but just keep rotating it a little and screw the lens back on until you get it where you want it. Be careful not to scratch the rear lens element.

Oh right - I had no idea!

I'll give it a whirl first thing tomorrow - brilliant thanks!

done it

presumably then the lens optic distance somehow remains constant to the film gate, as the rear thread is adjusted?

the eye cup is a pain - it collides with the camera body - i removed it for now.

thanks.
