Super8camera-shop.com and paypal questions

Post by Technicolor »

Hi all,

A while ago I posted about a shop called super8camera-shop.com based in Germany that I was interested in getting a few bits from. I know a couple of people ordered cameras and film from them and I wanted to know if everything turned up ok and if the cameras worked ok on arrival. I ask because obviously I'd like to know if anyone has any experience as to whether its ok to order from them.

My other question concerns paypal. Before I couldn't add a credit card because my card didnt have a 3 digit secruity code on the back, but my new one does. I've added that card and am waiting for my bank statement to get my four digit member code to complete my membership.
Once I've done that, how do I pay for an item from, for example the shop mentioned above? Do I have to add funds to my paypal account or something.
So if anyone had bought something from there using Paypal I'd be very grateful if you could tell me how it all works. I did a "dry run" of ordering an item and got as far as the final statement and the stage where you enter your postal address, what happens after that and how do you pay for the goods exactly?

Cheers :)

Hi,
I recently bought a nizo wide angle lens from there. After you complete the order form you are later emailed a paypal invoice, you follow a link in the invoice to pay it. You dont have to have funds in your paypal account before you pay for an item, paypal will take the funds from your card, convert it to the relevant currency & send it to super8camera shops paypal account. That's all there is to it. :)

Cheers for that Al, glad its a lot simpler then I thought.

Just another quick question, can I order things before I complete my paypal membership or is it best to wait until you get the membership code from the bank statement?

you dont need to wait for your bank statement, you only need that code to become a "verified member" which just gives you more paying options like having a chequing account

The best way to get Paypal in credit is to sell stuff on eBay and try and get people to pay with PayPal.

That way one accumulates cash that you have not seen, and have not placed there. So far I have only used it to buy stuff on ebay, but it would work for any other supplier that accepts eBay.

In the UK some b---rs aks for a surcharge if you use PayPal, so i avoid them if possible. Using this I have acquired a roll of 16mm Pan-X and must get around to trying it out.

You do not have to sell, you can always pay in with you credit card.
