collimating Angenieux-Zoom

Post by unsanity »

Hi, can anyone help ?
I am trying to collimate an f1:1.9, 8 -64mm Angenieux-Zoom, Type 8 x 8B, according to the method from Mike Elek http://elekm.net/zeiss-ikon/repair/collimate/ and Martin Baumgarten's instructions at http://www.oocities.org/sunsetstrip/stu ... ation.html
Martin says there is an adjustment slot on the rear optic but with my lens that is not it. The rear lens just becomes loose.
Does anyone know where the rear lens adjustment is on this Angenieux lens ?
Thanks in advance,
Julian

As nobody has answering earlier, I will try to explain.
Adjustments for backfocus on this Angenieux lens, is made by changing the thin aluminium distance ring between the part that holds the C-mount tread and lens body to a ring with right thickness.

Thanks a lot Bjorn.
I know what you are refering to but due to being careful, I have not got as far as removing the c-mount part yet. I will look further after some sleep and when I am more refreshed.
I will keep the forum up to date and thanks again for the tip. Much apppreciated.

Julian.
