Super 8 in a Standard 8/Regular 8 projector

Post by Pj »

Hi

Can I put some Super 8 film in a Standard 8/Regular 8 projector? I know the projector will crop the frame, but will it run through the projector normally?

Thanks

unfortunately it won't transport the film.
Also, the sprocket being in the middle of the edge of the frame rather than between frames would also stuff things up. Basically it doesn't work.

It will also jam and burn your film when it doesn't pass through properly. Get a Super 8 projector.

PJ,

It will rip new perforations in your precious Super 8 film. Different pitch and perforation dimensions. This can be quickly established visually.
