Hi guys and girls, though I would share some R8 experiments with you.
Keep in mind both colour and b&w film stock have been developed in exhausted chemicals, transfered to youtube on a terrible little digital camera with no compression at all. These are really rough and ready experiments. Also this was the first time I'd used this particular R8 camera (bolex zoom reflex P3) and b&w stock. I got the hang of the b&w stock by the end and there are some lovely images of my grandmother (however a little bit of light got in when I flipped the film over midway and there is some unwanted exposure). Next time I'll have to be more careful. Goes to show the potential of the 10ASA film stock though, quite impressed!
There seems to be light streaks at the top of the shot when I start to shoot. Also sometimes they appears at the bottom left. It happened with both colour and B&W stocks in the same camera so I assume the camera is faulty. Any ideas what is going wrong here and can I fix it?
Enjoy:

Funny stuff you did there! Shows once again how superb Standard 8 can look.
I am quite sure that the white stripes across the frames after each time you start a new scene is because of a light leak in the film compartment door. Have a close look, you might be able to find the fault.

You can use gaffers tape to seal the film door if you think that's where the light leak is coming from. It also helps to use a film changing bag to avoid the light when you open the film door. You may need to practice changing the film in complete darkness but it's not difficult.
