Quarz Light Meter

Post by wolferic »

Just got a new, in-the-box Quarz 1x8S-2 camera

I have loaded a pair of 625 cells, but can't figure out from the German manual that came with it if I am supposed to see anything in the aperture scale window when the light meter is on 'Auto'

In manual mode, the needle slides smoothly from right to left, but when I switch to auto mode it disappears to the right side with a distinct 'click'

Is this normal? Don't want to waste a roll of film to find out that the light meter is dead.

thanks.

The "click" is normal, you should see the needle react to the light in the auto mode. Check this link, there are described some problems with the light meter.

Brilliant, thanks for the link. I had come across that page ages ago, but had 'misplaced´the bookmark and it wasn't showing up in the searches, so again, many thanks.
