A Polish Vampire in Brooklyn - trailer on youtube

Post by Scotness »

I've never seen this film but I believe it was shot on Super 8 -- making it one of the rare Super 8 features to get some kind of release!!

But anyway I just came across the trailer on youtube

Nice with Farah Fawcett on the coffin ceiling.

$2500 bought you a lot more of Super-8 then nowadays. A film cost some $4 ?
I suppose the cast didn't work for free.

Remarkable image-stability. Which camera was used? It was more new then now possible :)
When, where was is it transfered?
Kind regards,

André

If the correct name is A Polish Vampire In Burbank it was a Chinon and possibly made in close connection with pro8mm. Ref this post on this forum in 2003:

Yes, it´s a film by Mark Pirro. Though I´ve never seen it I read his book about "Ultra Low Budget Movie Making". "A Polish Vampire in Burbank" was shot for $ 2.500,- on Super-8 with a Chinon camera. They sold 11.000 units at the first
run but I don´t think it´s a good example in terms of what picture quality Super-8 is capable of. Guess it looks a lot like Leif Jonker´s Zombie-flick "Darkness" that has also been shot on S8. But I think that´s more
because of the really bad telecine... MovieMaker
Shoot.....
..tnx for reminding me Michael Lehnert.... or Santo or.... cinematography.com super8 - the forum of Rednex, Wannabees and Pretenders...
