Elmo 230s-xl burst shooting?

Post by mattburn82 »

Hello Everyone

I have recently just aquired an Elmo 230s-xl camera (no manual sadly..). Upon loading the camera with batteries and pressing the trigger I find that the motor runs in a sort of burst way and not smoothly like my Sankyo. Is this the way the camera is meant to run? The shutter is opening and closing and the film wheel is going round albeit a quarter of a turn every revolution.

As well as the above, can anyone tell me if they have run 100d and tri-x in this camera and what results they've had?

Yours Thankfully
Matt

p.s (I have not installed a film cart)

UPDATE

If I run the camera and pull down slightly on the slider that opens the side cover, the camera runs normally. Do I need to put a cartridge in this camera?

Has anyone else got one of these and ran it without a cart inside?

Hi,

not sure about this camera, but several of my cameras seem to run faster (or at least are making strange noises) when tested without film.

Or try to contact the guy behind these two links:
