Transfer to laptop

Post by Rio »

I have been asked to make available a super 8 film to a small group in a cafe environment. Normally, I would project the film on a projector with built-in screen, but a power supply may not be present. Therefore, I will need to get the film transferred to DVD so that it can be shown on a laptop. Any recommednation as to a transfer house in London which can do frame by frame transfer and add suitable background music? Is DVD the right way to go?

You won't need a DVD if your showing it on a laptop, just a video file of your choice that can be played right on the laptop. If you have basic edit software, you can easily add music and burn a DVD yourself. DVD footage is already heavily compressed, it's best to not use that as yuor starting point. Nowdays you can get your film transfer put directly onto a hard drive with no compression.
