braun 6080?

I have a braun 6080 that is not working. It makes a high pitched sound when the power is on. The zoom works but nothing else. Does anyone know how to reset the Fade Switch? Thank You.

Thank You! I was also reminded by the manual to use 1.2 batteries rather than 1.5.
