Yes, Micro 4/3rds and other assorted digital formats made owning c-mount lenses quite expensive. Man! The digital crowd throws money like there is no tomorrow. I wish I read the future years ago. I could have had a warehouse full of c-mount lenses to sell now. I could have been super rich! The c-mount junk of yesteryears is literally todays treasure.
I think the Yvar 75mm lens you refer to is the d-mount one.

Nope just yer standard looking 75mm Yvar! Adorama was selling that and a 100mm macro, both in h8RX mount a few months ago on Ebay. Really wanted to buy, but like I said the prices!

Great camera setup. I tend to like my regular 8 a little simpler and smaller like a Canon Cine Canonet 8. Fit one in each pocket of my cargo shorts in the summer. Usually can be found for around $10 each. These are smaller than most Super 8 cameras and can run at 24fps if you like that more than 18.
Regarding the recalibration of the Yvar 75, 100, 150 lenses to H8RX, unfortunately the only example I currently have at hand is the Macro-Yvar 150mm f/3.3 (earlier non-preset version). I can reset the infinity mark for the H8RX, but you loose about half of the macro range and if you go too close and past a certain point, the whole lens barrel will unscrew itself.
An easier solution is to just use the lens untouched and focus visually through the viewfinder.
Infinity focus will be at around the 32 feet (9.5m) mark on the distance scale.
When focusing ring is set the closest setting, the distance was measured at 7.5 feet.
Used on a H16RX, the minimum focusing distance of this lens is 6 feet.

I have the Canonet 8. Have not used it in ages. Very very nice portable camera. This is definitely the Champagne of R8 cameras I like its modern sleek look.
On a different note - my first 35mm still photo camera was a Canon Canonet with a range finder. I still have it side by side with the Canonet 8.

I've got a Kern-Paillard 75mm f/2.8 Yvar "C-mount" that's made for H8 RX cameras. It appears in Bolex catalogs of the period.
I was advised by Marc Ueter of the Bolex factory that mounts of the 100mm and 150mm Macro-Yvar lenses could be interchanged between H8 and H16, although that wasn't wasn't the story I got from at least one authorized Bolex service center here in the United States. It's unfortunate that these longer lenses are so pricey (and relatively uncommon, especially in the H8 mount).
Thanks for the correction. I came back to the Bolex Reporter issue and this is indeed the case: Yvar 75mm for H8RX. I must have missed it first time I checked.
I never bothered with longer lenses for H8RX. The longest I have is a rare Schneider Kreuznach Makro-75mm lens for H8RX that I got off German eBay ages ago.

I paid about $200 for a canon ds8 about 8 years ago and have not used it much. Those prices look rather high but its a buyers market on ebay on a lot of items now.
the canon ds8 - Very nice camera, very quiet. A motorized zoom would be a better addition to this camera.
I recently shot a roll of 100d so I'm going to have it processed and see how it turns out.

As far as I know the factory didn't build any DS8 cameras or do any DS8 conversions. In a recent post, bolextech reported Swiss Professional Movie Equipment Ltd. in New York City - a firm run by a gentleman named Joseph Vasata and an official Bolex 16mm service representative - offered DS8 conversions. That's the closest anyone came to a factory DS8 Bolex. The conversion shown in the eBay listing was done by Ruedi Muster of Film & Fernsehtechnik. Up until about two to three years ago, when I last inquired, Muster was still doing such conversions at a cost of 2,800.00 Swiss Francs.

I have a Bolex SBM that was modified to include a flash connection and a through the lens exposure system (two LEDs: one for underexposure, one for overexposure, and both on for correct exposure) along with an ASA knob that matched the FPS. Professional modifications. Exposure metering uses a 9V Lithium battery in the film compartment.
Years ago i ran across a Bolex RX 4 on German eBay with the same exact modifications.
All I could find out was that the modification was done by someone in Hollad.
