Krasnogorsk K-3 Lightmeter

Hi Folks. Anyone know how to start lightmeter on the K-3? Is there a needle in wievfinder, or what system they use?

You turn the centre of the ASA dial to switch the meter on, then a needle swings into the viewfinder frame.

I've never actually used it... always carry an external one. I understood that it was a little hit-and-miss.
