Kodak slides

Post by superadio »

I have some slides taken in USA in 1963. All of them have this blue light on them. On the frames it says: Processed by DYNACOLOR. Is this due to camera settings? Age? On some of the frames it says: Kodachrome. I would epreciate comments on this. Thanks

Perhaps it was shot without a orange filter? Then it would be blue. I'm not sure how the slides worked and what Kodachrome types there were for slides since I hardly every used slides - and never Kodachrome slides myself.

I'm pretty sure that Dynacolor was made by Kodak for other brands. The blue tint is the typical colour degradation of reversal films (apart from Kodachrome). It may be a Ektachrome type film, despite some Kodachrome frames were used for the slides.

Hi,

it looks like the slide-films sold as "Dynacolor" or "Dynachrome" have never been made by Kodak:

Looks like older Ektachrome to me. But according to that post you attached, Dynacolor was a Kodachrome clone. Maybe it was a tungsten film without the 85 filter shot outside?

Not very probable a slide film balanced as T for common pictures. I bet it's the natural typical degradation, although not too bad for a 1963 film!
