Howdy!
I’m wondering about the length of a film portion just from manufacture. Does anybody know how long a 400-ft roll is exactly? As much as I know 16-mm film in the beginning was sold with black and red paper leader spliced to. Was it 100 feet then? Carlson speak of 112 ft with Agfa-Gevaert, 109 ft with Eastman Kodak, 112 with Fuji, 115 with Ilford in their Professional Cameraman’s Handbook. I once measured 406½ ft on a roll of Fomapan R.
Now I have the statement from FilmoTec that all Orwo stock has the indicated length, so for instance 400 ft and nothing more. How shall one get 16'000 frames when it takes two to three feet for threading with every camera? Am I too picky here?
