Vivtar Series 1 0.43X wide angle attachment and Switar 5.5mm

To anyone who is interested - I borrowed a Vivitar Series 1 0.43x wide angle attachment. These attachments come in different types and sizes. The type I borrowed has **37mm rear thread diameter** and a 46mm front filter thread. I have a 21mm-37mm step up adapter (these can be found on eBay) so I used the attachment with a Switar 5.5mm d-mount on an H-8 camera (this Switar has 21mm front filter thread). it worked without vignetting. What I got was not a fisheye view (I personally do not care much for fisheye) but what is equivalent to 14mm or 15mm focal length on a 35mm SLR camera. Or 3mm wide angle with H-8. Not bad at all!
