You heard it here first.
Apparently Sarah Polly's next film just wrapped principal photography and they utilized 2x precision Leicina Special Super 8 cameras. Over 900x 50ft cartridges of Ektachrome 100D reversal were shot to emulate a 1970's high contrast look.
That is over 45,000 ft of film. They apparently had also exhausted Kodak Toronto's local supply. I believe one of the cameras was rented from LIFT here in Toronto, i.e. http://lift.ca/.
The cinematographer is a LIFT member but I have forgotten her name.
Canadian/US actor/director, Sarah Polly, is known internationally as the director of "Away from Her" (2006) starring Gordon Pinsent and Julie Christie. She has also starred in David Cronebergs's eXistenZ, Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead, and Vincenzo Natali's Splice.
I am looking forward to quality "miniature" 16mm on the big screen.

You mean Sarah Polley? This is one of my favorite actresses. This is great news. I've got to see this. Thanks for this great information.
I liked the fact that they exhausted the supply of the store. Kodak must be happy and that in itself is great news

Indeed. Apologies to Sarah Polley.
As a footnote LIFT was selling anywhere upwards of 500 cartridges (25,000 ft) of Super 8 cartridges per week this past summer to other filmmakers. They are down to about 100-200 per week at his time.
Apparently these figures are their normal averages and they are now Kodaks' biggest seller of S8 in Canada.
Toronto now appears to to be a major resource center in NA for the small format filmmaker.
