Ektachrome 100D Prices
I bought five Ektachrome 100D cartridges from bhphotovideo for $16.95 each. Their shipping is inexpensive and they are quite reliable.
John Schwind does not list the 100D on his web site.
Kodak sells them for $14 but one has to order a minimum of 20. Out of my range!
Amazon sellers are more expensive.
So is bhphotovideo the cheapest one around?

Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices
B&H Photo Video has been very competitive with their prices for film these days. When I was still shooting Super 8 I ordered from them. These days I shoot mainly Regular 8mm so I order from Dwayne's. I also have the film processed by Dwayne's. I usually send them an email with my order and a Paypal transaction is sent back. A very easy way to pay for film. The only thing that requires a trip to the post office for me is when I am mailing the film in for processing. All other transactions are done via email.

Dwayne's sells their 100D Super 8 film for $17.00 plus shipping.
Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices
So it looks like they are the cheapest. Like you, I have been doing lots of R8. I got turned off Super8 for a while because of Ektachrome 64T. I solely turned to R8 using a Bolex C8LA and Minolta Zoom 8.
So Dwayne's processes 100D? good to know. i am going to shoot 100D with my Moviflex MS8 and Minolta D12 and see which looks better. With Cinevia 50D (if I only could get some) and 100D things look good.
I'll use your system with Dwayne's.

Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices
I got turned off to Super 8 after having several carts jam in my Minolta. I recently bought a Bolex P4 and last week a Bolex K2. The P4 gave rock-solid steady images. I also just ordered a roll of reg. 8mm from Dwayne's. Will be shooting a test roll with the new K2. Can't wait to see the results with the Kern-Switar lens.
The auto-exposure is working on my K2 so I will be using that. I used the auto-exposure on the P4 and got great results. The nice thing about the K2 besides the great lens is the through-the-lens exposure. Good luck with your filming! The Dwayne's ordering is very convenient. Just email them the item you are ordering, name, address, and your Paypal email. They'll send you back an email with the Paypal link.

The Bolex C8LA you have, from what I know, is not a common camera. I looked it up at the Bolex Collector page. According to this article it would seem that information is in fact true. Michael Tisdale, a great guy, also has a Bolex page on facebook.

My most recent purchase. Here's a photo of my Bolex K2.

Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices and HURRAY to Bolexcollector :)
The Bolex C8LA is quite a hard to find camera. Years ago, a guy I knew via eBay turned my attention to it and told me to get it. And I did. For cheap. Now, if you can find it, people will fight over it.
I have the K2 and the P1 (not the P2). The K2 is an amazing camera. You'll not be disappointed. What batteries do you use for its exposure system?
I know about the bolexcollector web site. He posts here too, This is a great resource. This is what I used to check on when I was buying Bolex Collector issues one at a time. He has most of them with images of covers and themes on his web site.
This is thumbs up to BOLEXCOLLECTOR

Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices
I did not read all the replies so somebody may have pointed this out already but I just bought 2 from Kodaks site. You might read it again as it says a "maximum of 20" and not "minimum".

Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL i checked again and you are right. Amazing how we glance at things sometimes and it flies over our heads. It is actually maxmum of 21. Thanks for turning my attention to that.beamascope wrote:I did not read all the replies so somebody may have pointed this out already but I just bought 2 from Kodaks site. However, factoring in shipping, bhphotovideo is still cheaper by few cents.
But next time I'll buy from Kodak. It sends a message that people are buying

My website is difficult to change. I nolonger have 64T but I do sell 100D at $14.50. Although not listed I sell 100D. I also have some PXR 7265 remaining. Also I sell 400ft 100D R8 for a slight mark up from Kodak price. I am also sold out of Cinechrome 50D.

I am using the PX1 batteries for the K2. There are 3 for this camera. They are 1.5 volt but I was able to adjust the ASA on the dial. I have it set around 40ASA. I used this setting on my P4 and had excellent results. These batteries also last a long time. I've had 2 of them since 2005 and they still work just fine.

You were my first choice to buy 100D. I would have bought from you. Next time I will. Why is your web site difficult to change? If you need help send me a PM and I can take a look at it (I am an IT programmer by profession).

This is the cool thing about these cameras. They allow you to set the ASA so you can use 1.5V batteries and adjust the ASA. You would have thought that more Super8 manufacturers would have done the same. But nooooooooooooo we are stuck with filter switches, keys, and pins

Re: Ektachrome 100D Prices
I've been buying my R8 film from John for several years now with great service. I send him an email with my order and shipping address and he sends me a quote. I then mail him a check for that amount. He has always been very responsive and quickly ships the film to me. With limited sources for R8 film I am very appreciative of his service. I highly recommend him and hope he keeps selling it for a long time to come.mr8mm wrote:My website is difficult to change. I nolonger have 64T but I do sell 100D at $14.50.
