Kern Micro-Yvar Bolex 1:3 3 150mm lens

Post by voulkos »

I purchased a bolex lens anr it appears that the mounting ring spins on the lens, why is this and is this fixable?

Late series Kern-Paillard lenses for the Bolex cameras are fitted with preset levers. The rotating collar/mounting ring, in most instances, provides the clearance necessary to attach these lenses side-by-side on the turret, so it's part of the design and doesn't need fixing.

Interesting! There is a preset version of the Yvar 150mm Macro? I have never seen that one!

The preset 150mm f/3.3 Macro-Yvar appears in the Bolex 16mm Product Buying Guide of 1973, so it's been around for a while.
