Case recommendations for Eclair NPR?

Post by Arislan »

Hi folks, I'll be taking a long flight this Christmas to see my family and hopefully bring back my Eclair NPR. I was wondering what kind of case you'd recommend for that camera. I was thinking maybe the Pelican 1650? Any other ideas? I thought of just bringing it with me as carry-on but maybe it looks too much like a weapon these days to those "wonderful, courteous" TSA Naz...,er, agents.

Basically I need to have something capable of withstanding a long plane flight under hundreds of other people's suitcases, big enough for the body, motor and two mags. I already brought the lens this last time around. Didn't bring the battery belt because might look like a bomb under that machine that violates the 14th Amendment of that American document everyone at the airport pretends doesn't exist.

I would forgo the worry and put it in a Pelican Case. Otherwise you'd be breaking the camera down and wrapping each piece separately and putting in separate boxes and then putting the boxes into the luggage, and even then I don't think it would be safe. Even in a Pelican I would take the viewfinder and lenses off, and I'd prefer putting the mags in a separate case. I hope it works out. The NPR is a great camera!!
