I have a unique problem. I need a camcorder tripod ball-head that has micro-adjustment controls on it. My application is using a Canon XHA1 HDV camcorder to view "postage-size" projections from a 8mm film capture device that projects high quality images on a film gate.
Since the film gate image may vary slightly from reel to reel, I need to micro-adjust the ball head in order to zero in on the image being projected.
I have searched everywhere, but cannot find a ball head with "adjustment dials" allowing this level of adjustment for a fairly heavy camcorder.
Any suggestions?

Try a search on "XY Table". These come in all sorts sizes (ranges). They allow you to adjust the location of an object (mounted to the table) in two dimensions. You can even get XYZ tables.

Yep, try XYZ adjustment dimension. Easy to find. Easy pickings, if trouble then let me do it for you.
