Shot some Plus-X at the beach

Post by Wade »

This is a rough-cut pending music acqusition--which has now been granted. It was a church picnic on July 23rd. Music is by Newsboys: Glorious.

I love my P1 Bolex and yours looks like it works well. Hard to beat a camera that needs no batteries for anything.

Smashing, absolutely smashing. The film stock is great, the camera perfect and you are taking really good shots.
Thank you for sharing!

It's really fantastic Wade--beautiful stuff. Can I ask how you get that image with the so-called "sloppy" borders?

I don't usually transfer any of my films but if I decide to I'd like to be able to present them online just like this--with the sprocket holes and adjacent frames, etc.

I've seen some other films online posted online like this but I've never asked how it was done--any information you can relay would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Tim:
The image you see is the open R8 gate manufatured by Jaako Kurhi of JKCamera/Meritex. You can see the imperfections in the edges of the cold-rolled steel. I had intended to scale the image up and lose the rough edges and frame lines, but the people in this liked it so much I got nervous about trying to fix what ain't broken--if you know what I mean. So, what you are seeing is a picture of the gate and the surface of the film.
