DS8 7285 100D Kodak order
Kodak has agreed to to make one last run of 7285 DS8 400ft cat#1861681. This is the last DS8 100D until the end of time. If interested in ordering 100D ds8, please let me know and I will include with my order.

Not totally. Both Wittner and I will stock a sizable amount but Kodak will make no more after this run. And when Wittner is out that will be the end.

According to Wittner statements the film-material needed for Super-8 cartridges will remain available as DS-8 long rolls as these are the basis for filling Super-8 cartridges.
S8 is never perforated in one run of 8mm with S8 holes. First it is DS8 which will be slit and then routed into S8 cartridges.
Based on that statement I decided to invest in a DS-8 camera
ALthoug I would appreciate something less light-sensitive. 100D is too much and DOF sabotages every attempt to play sharpness zones. Of course ND's help a bit.
One would hope that some other film business would dedicate itself to film somewhat more.
FUJIfilm? They still are strong in the market and even have a full range of instant-film products.

Considering that this was always a niche format its incredible that its been around this long. But doesn't Fomapan offer a B&W reversal stock in DS8?
Re: DS8 7285 100D Kodak order
Yes, there is still Foma, Orwo, and Kahl offers both color and B&W stocks. To bad the dollar sucks. I'd be buying a lot of film from the EU.
Funny, when I first saw the title of this thread I thought John intended it for me, as I had just ordered (yesterday) 400ft of 100d DS8! Glad to here it is not from the last batch.
Cheers

And instant cameras! Two days ago I saw these in a shop, in a wide range of colours.aj wrote:FUJIfilm? They still are strong in the market and even have a full range of instant-film products.

John,
Any information on Regular 8mm?
That last bunch I bought from you should last me a little but if that is going away I would buy more...

You should see what they have in stock in every average photography-shop in Japan itself. Unbelievable. Too bad EU photography-shops are near extinction and only help this process by going fully-digital. Competition on the digital-products market is so plentiful that margins are too thin to make a proper profit from your work.
Kind regards,
André

And there is no news otherwise considering E100d in S8 on their website.aj wrote:According to Wittner statements the film-material needed for Super-8 cartridges will remain available as DS-8 long rolls as these are the basis for filling Super-8 cartridges.
So DS8 stays too.

I'll have to order some for my Scoopic soon. Nice camera and the images are a bit sharper than S8.
