Sample Footage - 100D with an Elmo 1012s-xl

Post by Andersens Tears »

Please find some sample footage shot on Kodak Ektachrome 100D (7285) at 24fps with an Elmo 1012s-xl super 8 camera.

I was shooting a screen test for a short film I am working on. The camera was having some hiccups and now needs a service.

The youtube clip is an H.264 compressed version of the original HD720p Pro Res Flashscan HD scan. (By Kent at Uppsala Bilteknik)

Please click on the 720p resolution. Thanks!

So I guess the camera momentarily stops or slows down a lot. What happens when you run the camera without a cartridge?

It was doing that - but now it does nothing. Not sure what has happened. It was new old stock and I was the first one to use it. Shot only 6 rolls fo film with it before it died. I guess all those years on the shelf unused did it no good

Have you checked/cleaned the battery compartment contact terminals?
Secondary the trigger contact it self if acessible?

Also try to shake rattle and roll the cam while pressing the trigger while also knock it occationally into some semi hard stuff.
It may be lube-stuck to but if you get it going, keep it running for 10 minutes at all possible angles sequentially, shaking and rolling it at the same time. It may "snap" some lube in vital bearings in the process :)

Shoot 8 :)
..tnx for reminding me Michael Lehnert.... or Santo or.... cinematography.com super8 - the forum of Rednex, Wannabees and Pretenders...
