quarz super 8

has anyone on filmshooting tried using a super 8 quarz wihout the zoom on that is just using the fixed focus prime on its own?

sure, works fine. If I remember correctly its a 9mm lens.

Yes, and it can sometimes look better without the zoom section, especially when shooting a landscape scene or something far away without the need for telephoto.
