Just to let you know that there will be a repeat episode of Mcleods Daughters coming up shortly on Australian TV that will feature me as an extra. I haven't seen the episode before so I'm looking forward to seeing it. If you want to try and spot me, I'll be wearing a red short-sleeve shirt and if I recall, a broad-brimmed hat. I didn't have a beard at the time...or much of one. From memory, I should be in two scenes with....wait for it...a stripper! I was quite close to the camera crew during shooting and got a good look at their Arriflex 416 S16mm camera. They had a nice selection of lenses too.
The episode is titled "The Merry Widow" and will appear this Monday 6 June on GEM at 3.00pm (South Australian time.)

Good stuff Patrick
.
I was once an extra on the ch 7 mini series Through My Eyes (about Lindy Chamberlain) -- I didn't get a good look at the camera (was steadicam) but I was told it was super 16.
The thing that impressed me though was how well planned out the shoot was and how efficient and professional the crew were - it was great to see after all the low budget crews I've been on LOL!! The day I was there was a big day for extras (about a hundred or so there) so they had to rally keep an eye on the dollars and clock I think.

Oh cool. I don't recall that particular series but anything about Lindy Chamberlain is interesting. Good title by the way. Whenabouts did the series air? I finally got to see that Chamberlain film starring Merryl Streep not too long ago.
Oh yea, with the big productions, they are true professonals, aren't they? Very efficient. Always on the ball. However, when I was an extra on Hey Hey Its Esther Blueberger, the camera crew were doing this very tricky 360 degree pan, and one of the operators came close to ending up in a nearby pond. And on another occasion during the same film, an assistant director stumbled off a small ledge she was sitting on and nearly ended up in the shot!
