The thing ontop of the Fujica is a (gun?)telescope I suppose. The screw-on lens is to extend the longest focal-length? I suppose it wasn't stable enough

. Or the thing toppled at the moment of climax.
I 'filmed' the solar eclipse in turkey, Antalya 2006 29th March on Kodachrome 40. Got some nice images but the film is/wasn't sensitive enough for such occasion, also the shutter and max aperture aren't the best of things. I.e. you can't register the faint outer structures of the corona

Best would be to shoot on color negative and use a camera with B-exposure like NIZO professional, Bauer 512, Leicina special.
A sturdy tripod is essential for long focal length S8 or 35mm still.
Nowadays (and then) there is software for DSLR Canon (and others?) which control the camera from a laptop with Windows which automatically does bracketing and HDR montage of the images. You can have the images ready when back at the hotel.
