Hi,
I've just purchased a Canon 1014 Auto-Zoom Electronic from an independent store in Melbourne. The camera is in very good condition mechanically, but with one small hitch. The opening button located next to the eyepiece seems to be jammed in, but the back cover won't open, preventing me from loading any film.
Before I take it back to the store, does anyone have a suggestion as to what I could possibly do to remedy this, or has anyone else had a similar issue?
Thanks.

It's not difficult to take the top cover off to look at what's happening.

Re: Canon 1014 Auto-Zoom Electronic Opening Button Jammed
Hello,
I am in melbourne also, good choice on the camera. I had the same thing sort of happen to me, but I could not stop and took the camera totally apart, I posted some pictures of removing the top of the camera to free up the button. If the button mechanism is broken, chances are I have the part, available for free.

I also rent/bond out Super8 equipment, pretty cheap or free. If you need anything, check out this page...

Good luck, let me know how you go.
cheers, Gareth

Thanks so much for the replies, this is such a helpful community.
I'm definitely going to be looking in to taking the top section off to hopefully free up the opening button.
I'll keep you posted,
-Simon.
