Get your HD Tape while you can

Post by Will2 »

Good (if not sad) article on the home page, Andreas.

For those of you that haven't seen it, check out the HOME page on this site.

My local lab guy told me about that yesterday and then I happened to see your article here. Since I generally bookmark the forum this was the first time I've looked at the home page in about a year.

Reminds me of the loss of 1" and 2" analog audio tape years ago, except these HDCAM SR tapes are standard workflow in broadcast now whereas most audio recording went to computers long ago.

Can't talk about this without encouraging everyone to find a charity and help the people of Japan even if it is just a little.

Good? The tone of it (which is a copied text), is very very unpleasant.

Furthermore, considering the devastation and tragic loss of life I find whining about a possible hick-up in supplies or cameras totally absurd. The displaced people must likely live as vagabonds for months and must rely on their fellow man for many more months or even years.

You can rely on Sony and any other Japanese firms that they will act quickly to assert good care of their customers.
Kind regards,

André

I mean "good" by well written and relevant to film/media professionals.

Don't think it was whining, just an observation that was relevant to what we do.

Just mentioning that doesn't mean the human tragedy is any less. The devastation is very well covered everywhere else.
