Does anyone know where Single 8 film can be obtained from, or has it been finally discontinued?
Also, I have two rolls (not long out of date) that I need to process.
Last time I sent a set of films (five - in 2008) to Retro 8, I never saw them again - lost in the post.
Does anyone know the procedure for sending films to Fujifilm for processing (assuming they still do it?) and getting them back to Europe safely?
Many thanks

ping me on my email Steve, I can help you.
Re: Fuji Single 8 discontinuation and processing question
I sent 7 films to Retro in Japan on November 2010 and got them back a few weeks later. No problems.

Hi,
in 2009 Fuji's official "end of sale"-dates have been
R25N = March 2012
RT200N = May 2010
Processing (and post-striping) will end in September 2013.
(Source: http://fujifilm.jp/information/articlead_0011.html )
On Fuji's Webpage the RT200N is now marked as "out of production" (or something similar - I can't read Japanese and have to rely on some online-translators): http://fujifilm.jp/personal/film/8mm/
In Fuji's Online-Shop the last date to order the RT200N was indeed in May 2010:
http://fujifilmmall.jp/shop/g/g15751898/
However you were still able to buy RT200N in several shops in Tokyo in December 2010.
BTW: The R25N's "end of sale"-date in Fuji's Online-Shop is March 2012, as "predicted" in 2009:

Re: Fuji Single 8 discontinuation and processing question
Interesting site, likely they take no orders from abroad. I'll try an enquiry in english though.
All these Fujibrom BW photographic papers. Really nice. Unfortunate that the Yen jumped so much in value. I bought a few packs when travelling Japan in 2008. Really nice prices then. And available from stock in the most bizarre places. People seem to appreciate classic photography

Kind regards,

Hi,
for Fuji's Single8-stuff try Retro8 (or FFR when being located in Europe). (There are some more sources in Germany, e.g. "DJ" in Geeste...).
For Fuji's Non-Single8-stuff try the bay or japanexposures.com
Jörg
P.S.: I wonder if there's a source for http://fujifilmmall.jp/shop/g/g201575159/ here in Germany or Europe... it looks so cool - and I do have several camera-bags that don't have space for a spare 135er... :mrgreen:

You can still shoot on Velvia, Fuji 64T, Orwo,...
Old Fujichrome has been discontinued, but the new acetate stocks are here.
And you can recharge those single-8 cartridges at home with any emulsion available in super-8.
Single-8: Easy, cheap and simply better 8)
