Hi Carl - yeah we're safe and sound - but very close to the floods - lots of friends in trouble with it - it really has been a hard time - and now the cyclone up north too -- 75% of the state is actually a declared disaster zone at the moment -- but you know you battle on and it all comes good one day -- geez I'd hate to be in Western Australia now though
-- where are you?

I'm in Melbourne. We've had a little flooding here.
You know I was in a cyclone once - in Darwin, 1974. Cyclone Tracy. Destroyed most of the city. We spent 8 hours in the bathroom, with the roof boards on top of us and the winds howling like hell.
When it was all over we climbed out of what remained of the house to a bright sunny day. But as far as the eye could see it was as if a nuclear bomb had gone off.
The story goes Canberra lost communication with Darwin about midnight and the head of defense, unaware of the cyclone, thought that Darwin was under attack so then and there, he ordered the army into Darwin.
It took 10 days before we were eventually evacuated to Brisbane.
Yes I remember Tracy - we left Darwin at the end of 72 so missed it thankfully - one came close when we were there and I can remember the siren and Mum taping windows and putting everything away. Sorry you had to go through Tracy but glad you're alright. You should have a good chat to Roger - he lost everything in Hurricane Alison (I think) - and has only rebuilt owing the the success of the workprinters

Have found the following place in New Zealand, that does ECN2 processing, and offers a package deal that includes both processing and 1920/1080 transfers.
Yes, Park Road Post are a big lab who of course process ecnII... but in super 8? I very much doubt it. Be nice if they did, but last time I enquired it was a resounding 'no'.
I run Nano Lab - Australia's super8 ektachrome processing service

Hi Richard,
I rang them up yesterday and confirmed the request through email. If they didn't process Super8 before, they do now. No ambiguity. I was very specific about Super8 as were they.
Well i just rang Park Rd then and sadly they told me they don't and won't process super 8 at all. They are able to transfer super 8, but not process super 8 film. Strange that you got a different response. Might they have thought you were talking super 16?

Hmmm. That's very depressing. Assuming you're right (and I bet you are) it means the facilities manager with whom I was talking, was talking through her arse.
Could you please reconfirm that Park Road labs can actually process Super8 Vision 3 negative. A technician here in Melbourne is of the understanding that you can't, and that perhaps you thought I meant Super16 rather than Super8.
Hi again Carl, Sorry, I actually thought I had mentioned regarding the Super8 processing – we indeed cannot process Super 8 here and I don’t think it can be done anywhere in NZ. When I originally offered you the combo rate I thought you were referring to a general inquiry of 16mm processing/transfer. – Apologies for the confusion.
