Re: Share your Collection/Tools of Choice

I have a "few" compared to the people on this thread - holy $hit. But, I tend to use only 2 or 3 - My Bolex H8Rex4, Nikon R8, Sankyo 1100CME, Canon Scoopic 16MS, and my Canon 814XLS.

In still cameras, I use my Leica IIIf with the 15mm Voigtlander Heliar lens almost exclusively.

In digital, I use both my Nikon D50 with screwmount adapter and old lenses as well as my daily driver: Canon S90.

I am trying to basically get rid of all of my remaining super 8 and regular 8 cameras - they just take up too much space in my small house. Sold 2 the other month so that was great (my Zeiss Ikon GS8 (x2)).

Cheers,
Mike

Some f'n amazing collections here.

I thought I had too many when I had 8 or 9.

Now it's just a Canon 1014xl-s and a newly acquired Beaulieu 6008SD.

Yes, some fantastic collections here, but I do think that yours ultramarine, is by far the wildest. Very impressive. Where do you keep them all?

Reading over your list, reminded me of some I forgot in my own collection--I also have the Agfa Family Set with that crazy round camera, but its boxed up with the projector--I guess I should pull it out and play around with the camera, and iirc, the viewer is a convenient way to preview rolls--easy loading and a nice bright screen. Yeah, I'm going to pull that out.

Another thing, you have your Agfa Microflex 300s listed without the "Sensor" designation--are these somehow different than what I have, the "Microflex 300 Sensor"? I just ask because you have the 100s and 200s listed with the "Sensor." I also forgot that I have the Minolta variant of this camera, the Pocket Z-8, same as the 300 Sensor, I believe.

I also have a Kodak Analyst camera that is in perfect working order--it is displayed on top of one of my shelves because it has that cool Kodak box. But I've never figured out a project to use it on so it sits, waiting for me. But having things out on display also leads to them becoming somewhat "invisible," you don't see them anymore and thus forget them.

Great lists, guys!

Tim,

You reminded me exactly that - I have a few movie cameras on display I always forget about. One is in its underwater housing so at the moment I even forget the camera name/brand. Go figure.

Cheers,
Mike

I have rented a warehouse...

Yes, there were some variations, not only with the Agfa cameras. There is indeed a "sensor" model and a "non-sensor" one! I have Bauers 715 that differ from eachother! From year to year a specific model was developed futher but kept the original model number. Many leicinas, as you can see in the list, had the same model number but were different in details! Collecting is very addictive and when you get the virus, there is no cure...

So here is my list. It's outdated (the doc was from 2007), doesn't include the 50 projectors, nor the 50-60 splicers, accessories, etc. No still cameras on the list as well. Right now I have more than 650 cameras, yes, I'm a collector but shoot film regularly. At least half of them are film tested! Take a deep breath! :)

8mm, 9.5mm, super8, 16mm cameras.

1. Agfa family set
...
510. Zenit quartz 1x8S-2

Many of the defect cameras have been sent for service. I should update the list soon or all is lost: I have to begin from scratch... Yes, me too, haven't bought a new car for years! :)
Yasu Neighbor,
8O Wow! What a collection! Great!
Same as me, but I collect documents: http://www.erkanumut.com/?s=dcl
I have a small collection of equipment: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vivax_imag ... 6461364370
Thanks for sharing.
Best,
Erkan

(3) Canon Scoopic MS
- with (2) magazine adapters & (4) 400' Magazines
(2) Kodak K-100 Turret
(1) Kiev 16u motorized
(1) Krasnogorsk 3 - Super 16, viewfinder widened and lens mount recentered
(1) Kodak Model B

Super 8
Beaulieu 4008 II
Beaulieu 4008 Jubilee Edition
(2) Canon 814 Auto Zoom
(1) Canon 310 XL
(3) Canon 310 XL AF
(2) Canon 310 XL-S
(2) Kodak Analyst (timelapse)

Regular 8
(10) Canon Cine Canonet 8
(1) Reflex Zoom 8
(1) Zeiss Ikon Movikon 8 (Multispeed version)
(1) Bolex Zoom Reflex

There are a few more in the closet somewhere but can't think of them right now. I tend to buy multiple versions of inexpensive cameras that work so I can hand them out to people at events to shoot with. You'd be surprised at what great footage you can get from a 5 year old sometimes.

Just starting out here:

R8:
Tower T-185
Kodak Brownie (2)
S8:
Argus
16mm:
Keystone A7

Still:
Busch Pressman Model C (2 1/4 x 3 1/4 sheet)
Mamiya C330 TLR (120 @ 6 x 6)
Sears Tower Box Camera (120 @ 6 x 9)
Burke and James Orbit (4 x 5 sheet)

Playing around on Yola making a free web site:
Go yo:

8mmovies.yolasite.com

to see some pictures of some of my cine cameras. Taken a few years ago as the originals are on film, but not so long as these are off the CD of scanned images that came back with the developed film.
New web site and this is cine page http://www.picsntech.co.uk/cine.html
