Spectra Velvia V50D, exposed sign, how is that?

Post by winbert »

I have several Spectra V50Ds which I hoarded before they were discontinued. Some were purchased brand new, some were second hand from Ebay. I didn't have time to use them because i had to chase finishing K40s first.

Now it is the time to use this stock, so it is my first time working with Spectra cartridges.

However, one of the cartridge shows:

(ps: this one come from the second hand purchase)

I was thinking that the leader is cut, making it is impossible to shoot with this unless I bring it back to a dark room and re-attach.

But someone says the opposite that this cartridge has been exposed and the cut film is the sign of exposed cartridge.

Is he correct?

So when Spectra re-spool Fuji stock into 50 feet cartridge, it doesn't make "EXPOSED" mark like Kodak does?, but just simply cutting like that?

Please enlighten me.

That is the end--it's exposed.

I have one sitting in front of me that I shot a couple of years ago that somehow got lost in my film cabinet and recently found. Probably no good anymore, which is so stupid because, if I recall correctly, it was process paid. Oh well, so it goes.

But that is what mine looks like. Good luck with it!

Tim, thanks. Now I know what I have to do.

BTW since this is process paid, why just sent to Spectra. Who knows it still has a good result. You only need pay shipping v.v anyway.

thanks
