I'm putting together a package to offer my Son's school as a charity auction item. Parents would bid on items and the money would go to the school.
I want a package that an average Dad who does a little bit of video editing with iMovie or something could shoot Super 8 and cut it in whatever program they use.
I'm thinking of donating one of my Super 8 sound cameras and three rolls of fresh Ektachrome 100D then working something out with Dwayne's to do processing and transfer to data DVD. Even if I pre-pay for it and do a gift certificate.
I was going to have a little DVD player looping with sample footage to do the big sell.
I'd love to donate a regular 8 camera but that may be too "advanced" for the average soccer (football) mom here in the U.S.
Can anyone think of anything else I should include? Maybe one of those early Kodak books on shooting home movies? I don't have any extra projectors and they are probably too problematic for me to offer anyway.

Re: Charity Auction of Super 8 Camera
I'll take the pessimist role here: I don't think the average Dad even knows how to focus and comprehend that rolling film time can't be rewound or shot forever. I just can't past that part...then there's the whole "edit videos" on the computer thing. That would be strike two. The only hope I would have would be they would actually watch the final product...maybe...

Yes, shooting film these days is a finely tuned craft when compared to shooting on all the new video eqipment they have now. Most people would end up shooting it in their living room under regular lighting, expecting the film to pick up what the eye can. I've had inexperienced friends attempt shooting S8 and most of the results were dreadful.
