elmo 8 tl camera light meter repair?

Post by miles&jules »

Hi guys
I've got a nice Elmo 8-tl motorised standard 8 camera with the 100ft mag thats running great! Only problem is the light meter on it.

It's a stupid design because, if the automatic light meter part of the camera is not working you cannot use it in manual mode either. Very annoying.

So I want o get it fixed. I'm in Qld Australia. But would send it internationally if there is some special elmo repairer if needed. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Miles

I have one of those too. Where do you get your batteries for it? I need 2; one for the camera and the other for the film mag.

Hi
The camera takes 4 AA batteries in both the mag and the body. The batteries fit in a brittle plastic holder for both. If you don't have the holder you could solder some wires onto the contacts and have the batteries attached to the outside if the camera. Does the light meter in your camera work?

Can't test light meter without batteries. It does not have the holder you describe.
