What's interesting is the photo of me was a test shot for an old m42 lens and m42 adapter I had picked up on ebay. I had it on my Canon XTi and asked my wife to take a look through the camera to see what the shallow DOF on the lens was like. I was standing in the kitchen and we have an overhead light above the kitchen island. She picked up the camera, ran the focus ring and then clicked. The camera wasn't even on auto exposure but the picture came out great. Perfect exposure and sharp as a tack. I ended up using it on the inside cover of my book!

I use the m42 lenses all the time on my Canon. They work particularly great when doing stop motion because you can set the manual aperture and you don't get flicker, unlike when using the servo aperture on digital lenses that never stop down to the same place twice.

Alright alright.... so some places only got indoor toilets in the latter part of the 20th century - but we still got them!

Nothing like the word dunny.......there's a great book called Dinkum Dunnies - featuring all sorts of well, dinkum dunnies.....

Anyway dunny would be one of my more favourite Australian expression - "fair suck of the sav" would probably be the best in my opinion "Off like a brides nightie" would have to be another one.......oh and for those who don't realise it "banging like a dunny door" means having lots of sex.......why you'd want to associate dunnies with sex is beyond me though....

- I remember having a coffee with my Irish American sister in law once and she needed to go to the toilet so I told her to ask the staff where the thunderbox is -- she looked at me twice but suspected I was puling her leg so wouldn't do it.......though we did once get an Estonian friend to always tell everyone when she was going she had to make like a dick and head.....
