Super 8 Today #16?

Post by jpolzfuss »

Hi,

what ever happened to Super 8 Today #16? And why is there no "issue 16 will be the last issue"-hint on super8today.net? Or did I miss something?

I've been hearing from my buddy who's writing some articles for the last issue that it's on it's way soon.

I just got an e-mail from Chris a couple of days ago. He says he's been mega-busy but hopes to get it out "soon."

It must be rough since I think he's doing everything himself.

No response. I can only imagine that he's overwhelmed with work. I wrote two articles for this issue but I completely forgot about it, it's been so long!

Anyone up for starting a new magazine? Who says print is dead? :D

At least we'd have a few articles ready to roll...

Don't hold your breath. If you still were. :)

Considering how my personal contacts went in the past when he could earn an easy buck (uh, over $120) I.e. write an envelope and toss in the requested stack of back isssue's
I doubt there will ever be a 16th issue when there is a lot of work involved and then earned a little.

It would be better if the publisher would ask the German magazine a hand who could then make a one time insert and get the subscriber-addresslist in the deal. :)
Kind regards,

André

Well, I did make a special payment of $5.95 at his request to pay for the last issue. If he won't publish #16, then he should make good on that payment somehow.

The information stage took some 2 months if not more. Delivery took 6 weeks after payment which was mostly doing nothing at the supplier side. After a number of emails suddenly the lot was delivered using an express service and multiple envelopes. Burning money without need.

Don't expect much there :(
Kind regards,

I really liked the magazine and thought it was a great shoestring effort, but I think the chances of seeing issue #16 in print are diminishing day-by-day. I have to believe the non-appearance of issue #16 after nearly six months have passed is the result of something more than the publisher being too busy.
