5.9 style lens for Canon 1014/water housing

my 2 favorite lenses from my Arri S and Bolex shooting days were the Angenieux 5.9 and the Kinoptik 5.7. everything's in focus from the lens surface to infinity. great wide angles. with these lenses you can shoot the camera without looking through the viewfinder. i used to work for action sports producers Teton Gravity Research, and we used these lenses for snowboard park and pipe shoots, and general run and gun lifestyle shoots.

i currently shoot with a few different Canon Super 8 cameras, but mostly with a 1014xls. i'm wondering if there's a wide angle lens adapter out there that can get me that 5.9 look. my favorite move with the 5.9 was to position the camera real close to an object or face (inches), then move out wide then move back in to another object or face. you can't do that with a standard Canon Super 8 lens because they have a minimum focus distance of a few feet. can any wide adapter allow me to do these moves, or are they limited to the main lens' minimum focus distance?

and then related to all this. i'm looking for either an underwater housing for my 1014 with this lens adapter, or a waterproof Super 8 camera, if such a thing exists. i'm not looking to go deep. more just for surfing or partial submersion. kind of a gritty counter angle to the Phantom HD and RED that i also shoot with.

it's kinda funny that i did all these things with 16 and Super 16 and now, as i move into beyond-HD formats like RED, i'm moving back to a smaller film format. but the truth is that i love film and what it can add to the story, and shooting Super 8 is way more economical than 16. and with tools like Neat Video, i can get pretty damn close to 16

Canon made the C-8 wide angle attachment. Brings it down to 4.3mm. To use it simply screw it on and set the lens to macro.
