I have been offered a Krasnogorsk 2, 16mm film camera. Is this a camera anyone has experience to use? Can i use any of todays 16mm film in that camera?

This is a good predecessor of the K-3. The Krasnogorsk 2 have bayonet mount like the early K-3's. It uses special metal mags for loading 30m/100ft of film. The Krasnogorsk factory sold the K-2 with standart 17-69 Meteor lens. It also can work with 12,5mm Mir-11, 20mm Vega-7 and 50mm Vega-9 primes. The lenses from "16-SP" camera also can be attached to K-2 bayonet.

This camera uses 1R and 2R film. These magazines are more reliable than daylight reels in K-3 because its usually haven't any problems with film transport. Certainly you should previously load them

Thanks for reply. So films are coming in rolls, and than i load the film into magazine for camera? Do I need to do that in darkroom?

Yes, you need to work in a dark room I am afraid. I believe russian film was available on little cores that fit in the k2 cartridge (and others). If you buy a normal roll of kodak 100' it will be on a daylight loading spool. You will need to wind the daylight spool off onto something else (another spool will do) so that it is tail out. Then rewind it onto the special cartridge hub or whatever it has/needs. If you can get hold of 2r (double perforated) film, you won't need to wind the film tail out first, just straight over to the krasnagorsk hub.
That said, it is all possible and the K2 is a nice camera.

Film should be loaded in the magazine on special core
You can rewind film from daylight reel
