Eumig Take Up Problem

Post by Simon McConway »

On my Eumig (RS3000; TV style) projector, the take up reel appears sluggish, and won't correctly take up the film. This machine is one where the feed reel is mounted on top of the take-up. With just the take-up mounted, all appears well, with the take-up whizzing around. But once the feed reel is mounted, the take-up slows. Nothing is catching or rubbing. Any ideas?

g'day,
i think it very likely that the slip clutch tension is wrong on the take up spindle. Open the projector. You might be able to see a the other side of the take up spindle. I suspect there will be a spring on a bolt there with a nut that holds the spring under tension against the slip clutch. By adjusting the position of that nut you change the tension of the slip clutch. give it a go.

Thank you for your reply. I ended up putting some spray oil on the shaft between the shaft itself and the plastic part where the take-up spool is mounted. This cured the problem perfectly!
