Update on Nizo 6080 function. Any ideas?

Post by Bloomsday »

Update:

I have a wall socket power supply that came with the camera. Only problem was that it uses European socket/voltage. So I went to radio shack and got me a $33 voltage converter and PRESTO! The camera works!

However:

1) The camera seems to be stuck in intervalometer mode. It's really weird. This is all with the master switch engaged but the trigger left untouched. The thing just takes a frame every so often. If I switch it to the intervalometer, the time intervals are correct. Switch it back to regular operation and it just takes a frame at erratic intervals. Without ever pushing the trigger button. Changing the speed selector has no effect on this.

If I push the trigger button, the camera runs at the speed indicated by the selector. At the end of the run, when depressing the trigger, the camera takes a single frame (click) and then gets back to its renegade intervalometer function.

What's the deal??

2) I bought 1.2V rechargeables and the camera will still not run from batteries, only from the power supply. I checked the battery contacts to make sure everything connected and found no problems. I suspect the problem is somewhere in the battery box or the camera handle. I guess I should get a multitester. The weird thing is that the camera came with 4 spare handles, as if someone has been experimenting with repairing it. Hmm....
