Wittner V50D first roll - video on vimeo

Post by thepelell »

Hi. Yesterday i received my first developed roll of V50D, shot with Leicina Super RT1 in finland and italy. I did a quick telecine with my uncomplete and very 'jumpy' telecine machine, sorry for the bad quality.... First impressiona are very good. Compared to E64T there is less grain in blue skies, and the colours are fantastic. No color correction of other manipulations to the video, it's just as it came out from the Canon XL1S i used to tc.

Beautiful footage! :o I like colors of this Velvia. The lens on Super RT1 is very sharp. Recently I have decided, that I do not shoot any more E64T. Velvia 50 or E100D will be my choice for reversal.

Greetings for the first roll of Velvia also

Go Velvia!!! Unfortunatelly I don't have cash now to get it in 16mm for our new film but I got a roll of bulk load 35mm fuji velvia (30m) that I'll put in my konvas to see what happens. It will be barely 1 min of footage but...

Welcome!

It should run well through the Konvas nevertheless

Managed to sort out jumping frame issues (now capturing on a MAC with Capturemate). So here's a much better version. Basic CC and Gamma correction in FCP.

cool colours!

I especially watched the skin tones; they didn't look that bad at all. Wish I could see a close up from a face, so I can judge that better.

Great clip!

Best regards,

Crikey! That could have been 16mm it was so clear and sharp- and with home telecine? Wow! Am very tempted to grab a Leicina now...

This is really gorgeous. Skin tones are excellent and makes me hungry for barbeque. Reminds me of the old "United Colors of Benetton" ad campaign where models of different races were grouped together and the colors of the clothing and the people were so vibrant. It actually would be cool to do that with this filmstock... The United Colors of Velvia.
