Re: Isco Gottingen Anamorphot 1.5x
I don't think this is an attachment, no. I'm not completely sure of it's use but it seems to be threaded on one end (c-mount?) and seems to have a blender ring, so there is most likely a lens + an anamorphic element there. Could "36" mean that it's a 36mm prime-lens?. If it is intended to be used on a Bolex 16mm camera it makes sense that the threads are c-mount.

This is the ISCO-36 alright (the 36 does not refer to a focal length, but to the type of the attachment with a 36mm rear optical diameter), but with a rear optical part and an aperture mechanism added to the rear. This makes it into a standalone lens. It may be a C mount or a CS mount. If a CS mount lens then you'll not be able to use it on a Bolex turret for example and no adapter will help.Ray wrote:Saw this on ebay:

All in all, you can not make any assumptions as to the system this was created for.
Depending on how the rear optical part is added, you may be able to remove the whole mechanism leaving you with the attachment. The aperture tube will be easy to remove. It is the rear optics screwed to the attachment that may be a challenge.
The ISCO-36 is a beautiful lens attachment for 1.5x work. However, at the $700 tag I'll definitely pass and wait for another one that is cheaper and with no optical attachments to it. Check often on German eBay.
I recently received an ISCO-54 with the same optical rear attachements on it. Check my 'anyone knows what item this is' thread in this forum. I simply could not remove the optical part screwed to the rear of this lens.
