Re: video tap conversion installed on a Beaulieu 4008
Certainly looks nice and compact.
It looks simple but there must be some optics in the tube otherwise it never can project an image on the sensor.
The text isn´t that detailed. The images seem tell most. The signal is PAL tv and can go to a display monitor or some small TFT-LCD screen with PAL input.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the quick reply, AJ. Any mention of the company who made the optics ?

I am also interested in this, I think that this can be replicated if we can get the specific components used, i would be able to use this, instead of trying to use a lipstick cam.
I looked around and there are many very capable "spy cams" and pinhole cams that would do the trick, but I am still curious on what they used here.

Hi;
Looks like a pretty standard mini cctv security cam to me, i have one just like it which I have taped into my Leicina eyepiece on occasion. I think whats impressive with the link pic is the coupler... That's the hard bit!

Looks very nice indeed, and actually pretty simple. Although I'm not saying I could make one myself
I sent them an e-mail and asked a load of questions. Will post back what they have to say.

Agreed - standard cctv back with a cheap crappy c-mount security lense on the front. Key thing there is to get a c-mount lenses with the right focal length so as to see all of the frame through the eyepiece and not effectively vinjette your view - otherwise you'll have things in shot you didn't realise were there.Rachel Oliver wrote:Hi;

I once put a D mount lens with a toy video cam ccd onto a Canonet 8 eyepiece. I used a magic tape core as spacer between the lens and sensor, held on by electrical tape.
