fitting the bolex lens hood

i have a model that came with the attachment that you slide the bolex mattebox into. (its basically the small mount screwed on the base of the camera)
im trying to fit that same attachment to another camera.
but there isn't the mount for it.
are the screw mounts behind the piece of leather?
and do i just use a flat tip to pry it open?

Yes, two threaded holes in the camera base are revealed when the leather covering is pulled off. I use a small X-Acto knife to peel up the edge of the leather and 3M adhesive remover to facilitate removal of the rest.
