Plus-X neg as in '31??
Nowhere that I know of.
Unless someone is cutting it and loading it for aftermarket sale. You can cross process reversals. But they will look totally different.
Good Luck

As I can't read German, which is the Black and White stock? What is the speed?
Does the price include processing?
Also, is this a reload?

Re: Super8 plus-X negative
ACHTUNG! I cant read German either.
seems pretty obvious to me which film stock is Negative;
KAHL NP 21 - Negativfilm
KAHL NP 27 - Negativfilm
Schwarz = Black, Weiss = White
Schwarzweiss = Black + White
kopf = head
Schwarzkopf = Black Head.
anyway...im pretty sure they're processing paid. i don't have any personal experience with Kahl film...im just aware of their existence.
click on the individual DETAILS button and it gives you the DIN & ISO (ASA) Ratings

Re: Super8 plus-X negative
What stocks are these Kahl cartridges based off of? Do they make the emulsions themselves? I don't recognize the ASA ratings as matching any other stocks.
Re: Super8 plus-X negative
Hey Nigel, What is the ASA rating for Pus-X reversal when processed as negative? How much latitude gained? What about the grain structure,
is it comparable to 7231 Plus-X negative film?

Re: Super8 plus-X negative
Unfortunately, neither Double-X (I think you were confusing this with Plus-X, which is the reversal B&W stock) nor Tri-X Negative are available in Super-8, and it seems that neither Pro8mm nor Kodak themselves see much of a market for it, and I can sort of see their point.
It's such a hassle trying to get B&W reversal processed, so just imagine how much harder getting B&W negative processed would be for the average Joe. Personally, I could never understand how Kodak would refuse to offer processing for a film it makes. That's always been one of the big stumbling blocks to me shooting Plus and Tri-X. If I don't have to, I'd rather throw my film in the nearest drugstore photo bin like I used to be able to do. And yes, I know that's not the best way to do things, but I'm cursed with the character flaw of impatience

Re: Super8 plus-X negative
Just sent the package off to Frame Discreet this week. I was thinking about holding it back until after I came back from L. A., but i decided I couldn't wait that long. Besides, if I go by my current plan, I'll have another massive load of footage from that trip. In the last week, I've won about 900 feet of various 16mm stocks, and I anticipate picking up even more.Ray wrote:I got my super 8 PLUS-X reversal processed at http://cinelab.com/ and telecine at http://www.fsft.com/ with a good results.I shoot alot of

I 'll be attending Cine Gear Expo on June 20-21 in L.A. Hope to see you there.
I am going to ask Spectra or Pro8mm if they can cut and load some Plus-X 7231 negative for me.
You mentioned on the other post that you shoot with Pro8mm, did you have any problems with dust and frame stability?

Re: Super8 plus-X negative
If they want a minimum order, post it here and maybe a few of us can get together and split it.I am going to ask Spectra or Pro8mm if they can cut and load some Plus-X 7231 negative for me.
The Plus-X negative would probably be a better choice than Double-X for Super 8, but I really like Double-X in 16mm better than Plus-X negative. Double-X just seems to have more character to me... and of course grain.
Problem for either might be processing... Negative B&W isn't a problem in 16mm but I wonder if they could handle Super 8 B&W negative?
