NYC on Super8

Post by sooper8fan »

A while back I mentioned I would be taking a trip to NYC and of course I'd have to shoot Super8 while I was there! So anyway, I went, I shot, and now I've finally gotten around to editing. I've posted the clip on my blog:

Let me know what you think, either here or as a comment on the blog. Thanks for looking!

For some reason it took awhile to load. I like how during the time lapse of people you placed ideal background people chatter.

Top footage! The graf on that block was amazing.
Loved the iconic subway train shots - reminds me of "The Warriors" (I mean that as a compliment :D )

Keep it up...

Absolutely fantastic, Seth. You always do killer work.

Great images, wonderful edit, perfect sound design. I've been to NYC many times and you've really caught a sense of the city here.

Stay cool, friend.

I live here and that was really great looking footage. What did you shoot with and what filmstock?

Thanks everybody! I needed to travel light so I went with the Minolta XL601 and used E64T for all of it. Processed at Dwayne's and transferred to MiniDV by my local guy. The camera was giving me some issues where'd I'd have to give the camera a good shake every so often (which actually ended up giving me a couple usable shakey shots), and the footage was "breathing" a little bit, but I think the carts were from a screwy batch?
