Pathe DS8 Report II duolight

Post by avr »

Hi I recently have purchased a pathe DS8 Report II Duolight.
It comes without user manual and I don´t know the shutter angle.
Someone knows this info? is 180 degree?
Thanks in advance

Hi filman, the Pathe Report II duolight has not variable shutter.

http://super8wiki.com/index.php/Path%C3 ... rt_II_DS_8

I know the Pathe BTL Duolight (spring motor) that it has variable shutter and maybe you´re correct for this model but the model that I told has not variable shutter. thanks

Hi avr,

the entry in the super8wiki is for the "Report II", which doesn't have to be the same as the "Report II duolight".

yes is the same camera. I don´t know which means duolight but there are only one model of report II cameras. Pathe DS8/BTL are called "duolight" too, these cameras have spring motor and variable shutter

The PATHE WEBO BTL II DUOLIGHT has a variable shutter from 0° - 180°. ( specifications of the factory ) In reality the maximum opening is a litlle less, about 175°. The reason for that is that the shutter consists of 2 pieces and there must be a little overlap to be sure the shutter is totally closed at 0°.
This camera has variable speeds from 8 to 80 frames per second.

The PATHE REPORT II DUOLIGHT has no variable shutter. I'm not sure but I think the opening is also 180°.
This camera has fixed speeds : 6, 12, 18, 24 and 32 frames per second.

The Duolight system doesn't use a galvanometer with a needle but the information is given in the viewfinder in the form of two red LEDS. One for over exposure and the other for under exposure. This system is dust- and shockproof.

Rob.
